Where should I start?
If you’re new to The CP Journal or the Left of Bang framework, we recommend beginning with our “Start Here” page.
It introduces the core ideas behind Left of Bang, explains how the framework has evolved over time, and recommends a handful of foundational articles before diving deeper into our training programs and subscriber-only content.
What’s included in a paid subscription?
A paid subscription gives you full access to The CP Journal, including The CP Journal’s Academy, which features the Tactical Analysis Course built on the behaviors described in Left of Bang, as well as a growing collection of playbooks, workshops, and webinars.

Subscriptions & Purchasing
Individual, group, and organizational subscriptions.
Can my organization purchase subscriptions for our team?
Yes.
Organizations can purchase subscriptions for multiple users directly through Substack using the Group subscription option.
Group subscriptions currently receive a 20% discount for purchases of two or more seats.
To purchase:
Open The CP Journal subscription page.
Select Group.
Enter the number of users.
Complete checkout.
If you’re purchasing for a larger team or would rather work directly with us, simply send us an email and we’ll help you get everything set up.
Can my organization purchase a subscription for me?
Absolutely.
The easiest option is to use the Gift Subscription feature on our subscription page.
This allows a supervisor or purchasing department to purchase access using their purchasing card while assigning the subscription directly to your email address.
It’s one of the simplest ways for organizations to support professional development without requiring employees to pay first and seek reimbursement later.
Can I get reimbursed by my employer?
Many of our subscribers use professional development, training, or continuing education funds to cover their subscription.

Before submitting your request, please ensure that:
All course modules have been completed.
All quizzes have been completed.
You’ve spent sufficient time working through the material.
Your quiz performance meets the required standard.
Certificate requests are reviewed and processed weekly.
What’s the best way to work through the Tactical Analysis Course?
The course is designed to be completed over time—not in a single sitting.
Most subscribers find it helpful to complete one or two modules at a time, apply the ideas in their daily work, and then return to continue the course.
